Ohio Roofing & Siding carries CertainTeed shingles
and fiber-cement siding

Fiber-cement siding is an alternative to real wood, engineered wood, and vinyl siding options.

CertainTeed's eco-friendly patented formula provides you with siding products that give you the look of wood without the hassle in a variety of shapes, profiles, and colors to match any design.

Fiber cement siding is a building material used to cover the exterior of a building in both commercial and domestic applications. Fiber cement siding is a composite material made of sand, cement and cellulose fibers. In appearance fiber cement cladding most often consists of overlapping horizontal boards, imitating wooden cladding, clapboard and imitation shingles. Fiber cement siding is also manufactured in a sheet form and is used not only as cladding but is also commonly used as a soffit / eave lining and as a tile underlay on decks and in bathrooms.

CertainTeed’s fiber-cement siding has the durability of cement, a class 1A fire rating, is impervious to wood-boring insects, does not rot, and is resistant to deterioration from salt and UV rays.

CertainTeed fiber cement siding green facts:

  • Contains 50% recycled content in the form of fly ash.
  • Fly ash is a by-product of electric generation at coal-fired facilities. It has been used as an ingredient in concrete for more than 60 years. U.S. concrete suppliers routinely use fly ash in their concrete mixtures.
  • CertainTeed is committed to resource conservation:
    • Our manufacturing facilities recycle the water used in our plants, resulting in a savings of more than 2 billion gallons per year.
    • The majority of wood fiber pulp used in our fiber cement products is supplied from sustainably managed forests.
    • By using fly ash in our product, nearly 100,000 tons of this material is diverted from landfills each year. Recycling fly ash also lessens the demand for virgin materials that would require quarrying, and substitutes for materials that may be energy-intensive to create, such as Portland cement.

CeretainTeed produces fiber cement siding products that have better product characteristics. A lifetime warranty… More durable, stronger, easier to handle and install, and more authentic texture with cleaner, crisper edges for your Northwest Ohio home.
